Careless

Originally commissioned for the cover of Careless Magazine's Fall '18 print edition, this piece was begun in Spring 2018 and remains in its spring form. Gradual, meticulous work on the piece continued through summer and into the fall, but computer troubles belied all efforts until the hard drive itself came to its own sputtering conclusion, annihilating all files of the piece except for a .jpeg that had once been distributed in a text message. The surviving image is cropped from this text, in which the sender had partially swiped the image, making the texting interface somewhat visible. In the right margin of the uncropped original (preserved in our archives), one can barely make out the letters "w/n/o/b/s" descending vertically.
