Prescription Woolgathering
Simone Flournoy

Mortar and pestle memories
The past milled into dust
Kept in a capsule
Consumed

Take two before bed with water
Eyes shut and lights dimmed
Controlled reentry
To a place you left behind

The confines of a moment
A dream with four walls
Pickled and preserved
Medicinal reveries

Simone Flournoy is a senior at Claremont McKenna majoring in International Relations. She's a lifelong poet, big 70's music fan, avid baker, and someone who should be working on their thesis right now.
