Southwest Graveyard

Elisabeth Lawton
Picture
Linoleum block print. "Southwest Graveyard" features the skulls of a mule deer, two coyotes, and a Cooper's hawk. This piece was inspired by a childhood spent in the high deserts, searching for life in more ways than one. The desert always takes back what it is owed, leaving remnants that hold beauty in their own fleetingness.

Elisabeth (SC '22) is a neuroscientist, witch, aerialist, and artist. She keeps getting science and magic mixed up, unless of course they are the same. She is inspired by serendipity, beauty in the little things, her spirituality and connection with nature, her studies, and her exploration of the human experience.
