ADAM OSMAN-KRINSKY
Apples and Oranges
Autumn Notes
I remember standing next to you as you lept
To the third bar on the monkey bars
And swung gracefully across while I stood
In awe.
When the air tightens around my ears
And grabs the back of my throat
After running, I crunch and itch
My way out of linen and into wool
And out of ice and into steam.
Awakenings
Sweat dripping like a broken faucet
Cleansing my breath,
Wrapping around my muscles
On Tea
How can you taste a routine?
Centuries of waking up,
Millenia of water boiling, tasting
Leaves us becoming human.
